Duolingo for charisma

You do not get better at talking to people by reading about talking to people.

Rizz Academy is a voice trainer. You speak out loud, in real time, to characters who have their own evening going on and no obligation to be charmed by you. Some of them are warm. Some of them will roast you for six straight minutes. All of them are keeping score, and afterwards the app shows you the exact line where you lost them.

No chat log during the call
It is voice. You have to listen, remember what they said, and call back to it — the same as real life.
Every turn gets judged
A second model scores each thing you say against that character’s green and red flags. The meter on screen is honest.
Difficulty and attitude are separate
Being savage to you is not the same as being hard to win. The roster proves it in both directions.

Sixty seconds with Maya. No account.

Maya is the tutorial: a barista who genuinely likes people and meets you most of the way. Below is a recreation of one real run against her — the same scene card, the same starting affection, the same threshold. It is scripted so we can show it to a signed-out visitor without spending a live voice session on them; the real version goes wherever your mouth takes it.

The scene

It's 8:40 on a Tuesday. The morning rush just broke and Maya is restocking oat milk behind the counter. You have about as long as it takes her to finish.

Maya speaks out loud, so turn your sound up. We ask for your mic so the waveform is genuinely yours. Nothing is recorded, uploaded, or sent anywhere — this preview runs entirely in your browser.

Vibe: Curious

The loop takes about six minutes.

  1. 01

    Pick someone off the roster

Twelve characters, difficulty one through five. Locked ones show what you need to open them.

  2. 02

    Read the scene card

Where you are, what they are doing, and why you have about five minutes. That sets the stakes on your opener.

  3. 03

    Talk. Out loud.

Three to seven minutes of live voice, depending on how hard they are. They interrupt. They trail off. They can leave.

  4. 04

    Watch the Vibe Meter

A vertical bar that shifts colour as their affection moves, plus small tells — they glanced at their phone, they turned toward you.

  5. 05

    The call ends three ways

You close it, you blow it, or the clock runs out with nothing asked for. Being liked and closing are different scores.

  6. 06

    Read the scorecard

Six dimensions, your best and worst line quoted back at you, and one specific drill for next time. Then XP, streak, rank.

Mean is not the same as hard.

Every character runs on two independent dials. Difficulty is the maths: where their affection starts, what you need to hit, how fast it decays, how long you get. Demeanour is how they treat you on the way there — gentle, dry, sharp, cutting, brutal.

Keeping those apart is the whole design. A character who is savage and into you teaches you to hold your frame while being teased, which no polite character can teach. A character who is lovely to you while you quietly fail teaches the opposite lesson, and it is the one people need most.

The part that actually teaches you something.

When the call ends, a second model reads the whole transcript and grades six things. Not vibes — six things, with your own words quoted back at you and one concrete drill to take into the next attempt.

Most people find the same two numbers are low every time. That is the useful part.

  • Opener71

Fine. Not memorable. She had to do the work of continuing it.

  • Curiosity84

Three real questions about her, none of them about her job.

  • Playfulness62

One good tease, then you went earnest for ninety seconds.

  • Frame45

She called your line rehearsed and you apologised for it.

  • Listening78

You brought back the Porto thing. That is what moved her.

  • The Close33

You never asked for anything. She was at 81 when the clock ran out.

Biggest swing· −14 at 0:22 · you asked what she did for work twenty seconds in.

Your drill· Next run, do not ask a single question about her job. Force yourself to find something else to be curious about in the first two minutes.

What this is not.

Not a fantasy sim

Nothing goes explicit. Push for it and the character reacts like a person would — they cool off hard and it counts against you.

Not a place to practise pressure

Crude, pushy, or coercive behaviour ends the session and tanks the score, because that is what it does in the world.

Not modelled on anyone real

Every persona is a fictional adult written for this app. 18+ at signup, and no character is based on a real, identifiable person.

Go and be bad at this in private.

Three sessions a day, free, no card. You will lose the first few, and the scorecard will be specific about why. That is the fastest version of this there is.
